Wedding Trends 2016 for Destination weddings in Italy & worldwide
We’re just off the starting blocks for this year’s season – and we want to show you the hottest wedding trends for 2016!
- Individual, offbeat and creative!
‘Personality and creativity’ is the underlying them! From the detailed decorations on the invitations down to the wedding entertainment such as performance artists and DJ’s or the wedding venue itself. 2016 is a year for originality. One great idea is to plan your wedding around a certain theme. Your own, very personal style for the wedding can be set and then presented to your guests via the invitation cards. With your personal taste very much in the foreground, anything is possible. The same applies to the location; special or unusual venues are very on trend right now. And where better for a unique location for a wedding than in Italy? Whether it’s a beach wedding with just the two of you, a city wedding in one of the many wonderful Italian cities, or a wedding held at a winery, no other country can offer such an abundance of unique locations.
- Back to Nature
The once ubiquitous vintage trend looks to be making its way out this year, as we see a more natural, rustic look take its place. A modern, country style with decorative elements, such as wood, leather, cork, leaves and feathers is this year’s wedding trend, with decorations of flowers and grasses. The effect is both romantic and dreamy!
Chic, rustic places with history and a story to tell are popular in terms of location. For example, a fine rustic vineyard in Tuscany fits perfectly, almost as if fate had predestined it for this trend to come along.
- The Classics
Like in 2015, the classic styles are still hot. Whether for the decor or the wedding dress, it’s virtually impossible to imagine a wedding without some of the more classic elements.
Another trend of 2016 is plain for all to see: that of sustainability! Not only in our everyday lives, but it’s also an important theme for weddings. This is not just about having recyclable or biodegradable decorations. Choosing local products for the wedding meal such as Italian culinary delicacies such as Mozarella, „Proscuitto di Parma“ and well-chosen seasonal flower arrangements are a must!
- Do It Yourself!
It was only to be expected – the upwards trajectory of the DIY movement of past years is still going strong. From invitation cards to decor, homemade is all the rage, and your guests will love it!
